Rules and regulations, guidance and advice from Ross-on-Wye Canoe Hire

Rules and Regulations

Maximum weight per canoe is 40 stones = (254.012 kilos)
On average 2 Adults + 2 Children or 3 Adults + 1 Child.

Children under the age of 4 years are not allowed in canoes.

Under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

No Fishing Allowed unless with appropriate permit and license.

Arrive 20 minutes before your allocated time to be kitted out. If you are late, unfortunately we may have to leave without you, meaning your trip may have to be cancelled.

Buoyancy Aids must be worn at all times on the river.

Please when leaving the River take all your belongings + buoyancy aids and paddles as these are your responsibility.

Additional Guidance

Dogs are welcome.

What to wear

Loose light clothing. i.e. sports clothing and trainers. (NOT WELLINGTON BOOTS)

Remember a warm light long sleeved jumper as the water can reflect the sun making it very hot or cold depending on weather conditions which can change on your trip.

Bring Suntan Lotion.

A drink, chocolate bar, or picnic if your not planning to stop to stop off at a pub en-route.

Bring a change of clothes (just in case).

What not to bring

Expensive Jewellery, Watches etc as we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damages.

Rubbish

Protect the countryside and wildlife by not leaving rubbish on river banks. Bring it back with you and we will dispose of it for you.

Picnic Boxes

Basic picnic boxes can be arranged for you (with 24hrs notice) £8.00 per head.
